National Lifeguard Instructor

National Lifeguard Instructors (NLI) are responsible for teaching and evaluating candidates participating in the National Lifeguard Pool, Waterpark, Waterfront or Surf programs. The NLI course prepares instructors to apply level 3 leadership competencies and strategies while teaching and evaluating. Pre-requisites: - 18 years of age - Current National Lifeguard (any option), held for minimum 2 years in whatever stream they wish to teach (ie. NLI's wanting to teach Pool courses, must hold a current NL-Pool certification) - Lifesaving Instructor (need not be current) - Experience teaching Lifesaving Society certification programs is recommended Apprenticeship requirement - Candidates must apply to complete an apprenticeship with the Lifesaving Society following successful completion of this course.
